Learn how to build an online family tree for free, enter detailed information with sources and citations, navigate across the tree, generate charts and posters, create full reports, invite and share information with family members in 40 languages and get calendar alerts on family events. Set the privacy of your site from completely private to completely public, download a copy of your material or use the backup option.

Daniel Horowitz is MyHeritage Chief Genealogist, providing key contributions in the areas of product development, customer support and public affairs; contacting genealogy societies, bloggers and media. Daniel is also heading the company's Translation department, where he has been instrumental in increasing MyHeritage's global language support. A power genealogist, researcher and lecturer himself, Daniel holds board level positions in a few genealogical societies including the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies (IAJGS). With a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering and a Specialization in Education & Management of Educational Institutions, he has a deep understanding of the needs of today's family history enthusiasts. Daniel will be speaking to us from MyHertiage’s headquarters in Israel via the Internet.

Webinar of Latin American Resources

The Jewish Genealogical Society of Great Britain will hold a webinar on "Genealogical Resources in Latin America" on February 23 at 7pm GMT or 2pm EST. The lecturer is Daniel Horowitz of MyHeritage.com. Daniel is also a member of the board of directors of the IAJGS. There are not many guides on genealogical research in Latin America. Daniel Horowitz, IAJGS Director-at-Large and Webmaster, will present a webinar, from Israel, on sharing and preserving memories in a digital era. The webinar will be held this Sunday, November 20, 2011, 12:30 PM - 1:45 PM EST.

Learn the different options you have and the best way to digitally collect, store, preserve, publish and share your research and material gathered over so many years, to let young generations enjoy, contribute and continue your work.

Today you have a lot of options to store and share all your research material, no matter if we are talking about text, images, videos, documents or sound. Starting from the capture tools (audio recorders, cameras, cellular and scanners); to sharing physical products (CD’s, DVD’s, portable disc, electronic photo frames) or the Internet itself. Internet is the perfect place to share and preserve all your memories. You have the option to publish your material from a completely private to a completely public way, and all the levels in between. You can ask for collaboration or simply display the information, people can only see or download a copy of your material; you can control every aspect. There are all kind of easy-to-use tools and resources that facilitate us the work of setting up websites, blogs, wikis or any other way you decide to publish the information.
