“New Jewish Genealogy Sites”

Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Orlando Proudly Presents
Local Expert Laurence Morrell

ORLANDO, FL, August 27, 2012 The Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Orlando (JGSGO) proudly presents local expert, Laurence “Larry” Morrell, as Speaker of the Month. He will present "New Jewish Genealogy Sites".

As the JGSGO returns from summer hiatus, Larry Morrell will present to the group new Jewish genealogy Internet sites that he has investigated this summer. He also will briefly discuss his Family Tree DNA results. Following the formal program, we will hold a roundtable discussion. Bring your current genealogy challenge to the roundtable for discussion, tips, and pointers that will help you discover your ancestors. You may send a description of your genealogy challenge in advance of the meeting to jgsgo.maven@gmail.com .

Laurence Morrell was born and raised in Orlando, Florida 70 years ago. He has been doing genealogy research for over 10 years. His areas of interest include Poland, Lithuania, Belarus, France and Israel. Larry is also very interested in Jewish traditions and life in 19th century Eastern European shtetlach. He enjoys the "hunt" for new information from various new sources. He has recently gotten involved in the Family Tree DNA project. DNA testing may have revealed a whole new branch of his family tree. Larry is a past president of the JGSGO and a local instructor on beginning Jewish Genealogy.

The formal program portion of the meeting (prior to the roundtable discussion) will also be available via webinar (a web/internet delivered seminar). You can hear and see the live lecture from your computer and will be able to type questions to the presenter.
